Lykes Bros. Inc. entered the citrus industry in the 1940s with a single grove in Lake Placid, Florida. Eight decades later, our citrus operation has grown to include groves across Highlands and Polk counties, producing fruit for premium Florida orange juice and fresh Florida grapefruit. We have also expanded into Citrus Under Protective Screen (CUPS) production, investing in innovative technology to protect our trees and secure the future of Florida citrus.
From the beginning, Lykes Citrus has focused on producing the highest quality fruit in the safest manner possible. Our grove management strategy combines precision agriculture with proven horticultural practices to enhance both productivity and sustainability. We take an aggressive approach to combating disease and protecting our groves during severe weather, ensuring our trees remain healthy and productive year after year.
Lykes remains at the forefront of addressing the challenges facing Florida’s citrus industry. We actively participate in field trials, support independent research, and engage in industry forums to advance solutions for growers statewide. Our commitment to innovation drives continuous improvement in fruit production, quality, and sustainability.
Lykes Bros. Inc. is committed to environmental stewardship, long-term value enhancement of our citrus lands, and support for the communities where we operate. As we continue to advance the role of technology in our groves, we remain guided by the same principle that has defined our Company for more than a century: acting in the best interest of our people and our land.
